"The Campaign for Petey"

Hello all! I thought I would share this story with you. This story is from my friend Brooke. She also posted this on her blog. This is her Uncle. I thought it would be amazing for him to receive cards from people he don't even know to keep encouraging him to stay strong and that everyone is thinking and praying for him. So PLEASE send him one card...but more than one would be wonderful!!! The address and story is below...Please take part in "The Campaign for Petey"

Good afternoon Friends!

I am starting something that I hope you will join me in. My Uncle Petey is still in the hospital. He has been in the hospital since Feb. 5th..May 5th will be 3 months of him lying in a hospital bed with a ventilator, trach and at times completely out of it. He is improving, but is not well enough to some home. I can't even imagine what he is felling or is going through. Until this week, he was only able to communicate with his eyes and the nodding of his head. He is such a trooper and is really fighting the fight of his life and we are so proud of all he has done so far..and totally confident that with prayers, his strength and determination, and with God's miracle business, he will make a turn around. When he first got to Birmingham, I sent him 3 balloons..(they are still floating) and he loves them..especially the one that sings" Don't Worry, Be Happy"..when mom and dad are there, he will point to it and want it to play and start smiling. He is becoming more aware of his surroundings and has been pushed around the hall today in his mobile bed. God is so good and the progress he is making is amazing.

So, here is what I wanted to start.."Campaign for Petey"..since he is becoming more aware, I really ant him to see and know how many people are thinking of him and praying for him. I know they are there, because they are working...and I just want him to feel the love through cards or letters. I would be so happy if you as my friend would take a moment and find a card for him..(if it sings, it would be great)...and for him to start receiving mail and letters to encourage him. My family is rotating visitation days an I know that they would be more than happy to red them to him..and it will make him smile. It doesn't matter if you don't know him...just let him know prayers are going up! I will really appreciate it if you take a moment out of your day to do this...in fact, if you are a card person, a card a week would be even better. I know I am about to go stock up and keep them coming to him!

After all..laughter is so good for the healing of the body! Thanks in advance!!! And I can't wait to see his room filled with the love from you my friends!!!

What's the deal with Twitter???

I always hear about Twitter on the tv and radio. So I signed up to see what it was all about....Well I'm still trying to figure it out. All you are doing is letting people know what you are up to. I always hear celebs having it so I added the Kardashian sisters as someone I am following. (I love their show!) I don't get on their everyday but I watched the Tyra show one day and there were real addicts on there when it comes to Twitter (or tweetting as they call it). Anyways, so now I am a member as well as a couple of my cousins. If you have it let me know..or follow me..I really don't update it very often because I always forget about it, unless I get an e-mail message about it. Just search Tanya Gibbons...hope to see you soon!!!

Life after Easter

Well I hope everyone had a GREAT Easter! We had fun..We ended up going to Augusta Saturday night. The girls slept the whole way there so I thought they were going to sleep through the night..We boy was I wrong! Both of them stayed up till about 3 am! I think they was happy to see their grandparents:) When Christa got up the next morning she was asking for her Papa. She walked right past her basket the Easter Bunny left and went up stairs. When she came back down she looked at it and even walked up to the TV (which was sitting over the baskets). Eventually she got hers and started to open everything in it (especially the candy!) Chelsea also came that morning to share Easter day with us. Christa was so happy to see her. After breakfast we left for church. When we got back after church we decided to take some pictures. Here are a few of them...You can see all of them on our shutterfly web site...http:/lifeofagibbons.shutterfly.com.

Later on that day we ate and left for home. It was real nice to see family on Easter and spend time with them. This Thursday me and the girls are leaving for my mom's house in TN. My Grandmother will also be there. Stay tuned and I will post when I get back from that trip...

Easter is on its way...

Well this Sunday is Easter. Last weekend we took Christa and Brea to an Easter egg hunt this church was putting on. It was real nice. They had moon walks, an egg hunt, food, and give-aways to all the kids and adults. Of course we didn't win anything. The exciting thing was our friend's child, Campbell, won a bicycle. She is pictured in some of the pictures below. It seemed like everyone won something around us but us...haha..That's ok though, as long as the kids had fun...

Our plans for Easter is to decorate Easter eggs with one of our friend's, Jackie, and her kids. They are going to have this big Easter egg hunt on Saturday for all the kids. I think it will be a blast! Charlemagne has a showcase camp on Saturday so he more than likely won't be around until later that night. We are plannnig on going to Augusta to see his Grandmother and parents. I don't know if we will leave Saturday night or Sunday morning. The Master's is in Augusta so traffic won't be pretty whenever we go.

The Easter bunny has some thoughts in mind on what to get the girls. Brea is so hard to buy for because she is so small so for her it will probably be teething cookies, a little toy, maybe an outfit, shoes, hair bows, and just some snacks....For Christa it will probably be a little garden set (gloves, shovel, boots, rake), candy, bows, and I was thinking about throwing a kite in there to.

Some other things that is going on with the girls is Brea is walking behind her little toy. There is a video below...

Can you believe it!!! As much as I don't want her to grow up fast, I will be so ready when she starts to walk. It is hard to handle Christa and have Brea on my hips at all times. We plan on going to see my mom next weekend (the 16th). They haven't seen the girls for a while. I think Brea just started to crawl was the last time they saw her. Grandma is coming also. She hasn't seen Brea since she was about 2 or 3 weeks old. She will really be suprised when she sees her.

My Friend Tera came to see us a couple of weekends ago. We haven't seen each other for a long time, since our wedding. That was about 3 1/2 years ago. We had so much fun and she got to see the girls for the first time to..Christa ran up to her like she sees her everyday. It was really neat!..Here are some pictures from her visit...

I have also added some pictures from when we went to Atlanta for my test. Christa had a blast in the hotel room. She ran in circles the whole time and played with the doors..Brea was always behind her the whole time.

This is what has been going on the past couple of weeks. OH...I can't forget about this!!! As you know I have been working out for about a month and a half. Well I haven't been seeing it on the scale BUT I was cleaning the bathroom the other day and thought I would jump on it. I LOST about 6 lbs. I went from about 187 to about 181. My goal is to get to 170...I would love to get back to 160 or 165 but 170 would make me happy to and its more realistic...

On another note that came across my mind just now...Christa is starting to call me TJ. She doesn't do it if no one else is but when anyone else calls me that she will start to say "TJ. TJ. TJ" and look straight at me. Of course I don't want her to call me that so I don't answer unless she calls me momma. She is to crazy!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter and keep posted. I will write about ours next week...

Enjoy & Take care!!
