Nap time

Well Christa was trying me today. I couldn't help but laugh but couldn't do it in front of her. I was trying to put her down for a nap. She usually goes to sleep on her own, but not today. I put her down in the bed and, the first of many times, went to go and check on her. I crack open the door and she is laying in her bed with no diaper on. She has been doing that lately..She has pee in the bed once doing that at night. So I smacked her little bottom and put the diaper back on her (trying to potty train but not working yet). I left and cracked the door. I went downstairs to start cleaning and heard her playing with her toys in another room (2nd time she's up). Went upstairs and put her back in bed then left again (stupid me, with the door cracked). I hear her for the 3rd time and went to check on her. She was in our room playing. By this point all I had to do was giver her that look and she went right back to her bed. Well I left again and CLOSED the door. I hear her again playing..I left her there for a min then went to put her back in bed..this went on for about 4 more times with spankings in between. She has finally cried herself to sleep 1 hour later...

I thought it was so funny how she was consistent at what she was doing. She wanted to play, not nap. As a parent I really didn't care what she did but I have to keep her in that routine with napping at the same time and let her know that she can't do what she wants to, she has to go by the rules. It was so hard for me to tell her to take a nap. I wanted to laugh because it was funny. Anyways, I thought I would share this story with you. So until next time:) Take care!!

(This picture was taken after she finally went to sleep. Such an

Angel! You just gotta love her:)

~Being the oldest Sister~

OK...Well having two kids 18 months apart is hard so far but has its good moments to. Christa has just started to cry every time Brea cries. Its like they feed off of each other. Needless to say, they have tested mine and Charlemagne's nerves! Lately, Christa has started to cry and scream every time she don't get her way..I don't know if she is about to hit her "terrible two's" or what but she is not going to be a happy camper if she keeps it up..!;) Brea, on the other hand, cries all of the time! I don't know if it colic or what but I am definitely going to talk w/ the doc when we go back for her 2 month check up. She has been sleeping in the bassinet beside our bed but tonight I am going to start putting her in the crib in the baby room. This will hopefully give us a break from all the little noises she makes when she sleeps.

Although things sounds rough, when I watch Christa play (when she's not crying) and watch Brea sleep (when she's not crying), I think how wonderful I have it..A great husband, two loving daughters and great family and friends that back us up..Life really couldn't be any better! Watching the girls grow up is so amazing to me.
Everyday I think Christa says (or tries) to say a new word..I am trying to potty train her also. She knows when she is wet or goes #2 but doesn't tell us before she goes. She just touches her diaper or says "poopy" and brings us a clean diaper. She does know when she has to go #2 before she does it in her diaper though. She will come up to me or Charlemagne and say "poopy". So we go and put her on the pot..She has not yet went though. I guess its just a matter of time before she does...I am so ready for that day to come!! (ANY SUGGESTIONS TO HELP ME IN THIS AREA ARE WELCOME:)
Brea is the same...Cry, eat, sleep, and poop..and starting to be awake more during the day..When I hold her and stare she smiles so much...And starting to hold her head up really well...

Well anyways, its 12:40 am and I am trying to get this paper done...Usually this is the only time I get quiet so I can do my school work...So until next time...Thanks for listening to me complain and appriciate things that I have...

~Mothers~

This is to funny (and true). I just had to post this incase anyone hasn't read it....

I think it goes without saying that it takes a very special person to be a Mother. Being a parent changes everything. But being a parent also changes with each baby. Here are some of the ways having a second and third child is different from having the first.

Your Clothes
1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your doctorconfirms your pregnancy.

2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.

3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.

Their Clothes
1st baby: You pre-wash your newborn’s clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby’s little bureau.

2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothesare clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.

3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can’t they?

Worries
1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper, a frown--you pickup the baby.

2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake yourfirstborn.

3rd baby: You teach your 3-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.

Diapering
1st baby: You change your baby’s diapers every hour, whether they need it or not.

2nd baby: You change their diaper every 2 to 3 hours, if needed.

3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start tocomplain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.

At home
1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.

2nd baby: You spend a bit of every day watching to be sure your olderchild isn’t squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.

3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.

Brea

We had a good weekend...Going to the gym Saturday and coming home watching football...and finishing off the weekend by going to church today. Usually I take Brea in her car seat into the church. Today was a different day and I decided to hold her the whole time. She stayed awake during the service too. As I held her I would just stare and remember how much I love my family and what a great one I have! She would stare back at me as I wonder what is going through her mind..Before I knew it, she gave me the biggest smile! She has smiled before but while she was smiling she gave the loudest coo ever...I was so excited to hear that...Its only been 6 weeks and she is growing everyday...

Christa's accident

Well its not the first major accident she has had. The first accident she ran into the corner of the wall. She was about 10 months old. She got the big knot on her forehead...She couldn't walk straight afterward. Scared us to death...
Yesterday she had her second accident. She has a big, busted lip today from it. It started when I got her down out of her highchair. Charlemagne's mentee , Eli, was going with him to the high school football game, so he came to our house first. Christa started to show out for him...She plops on the couch. She did it once and landed on the cushions. The next time she missed and hit the side of the couch, the hard part on the bottom. She had so much blood coming out of her mouth, I thought she knocked a tooth out and all I could think of was her swallowing it! It ended up that she knocked her lip into her teeth so she had a big gash on the inside of her lip. She cried for a min, until the bleeding stopped. Well I guess she didn't learn the first time, and started to run into the couch again, showing out for Eli.
We woke this morning and I looked at it and it was black and blue. It doesn't phase her none but you can tell she has a fat lip....

Starting out

Ok. So I finally am going to try this new blog thing. I will start out by telling you a little something about our family. Me and my wonderful husband, Charlemagne, have been married for 3 years this December. Wow how time flies by. We met in Montgomery through my roommate and his sister. Such a small world:) He moved to GA while I finished my degree. I finally got to move in 03. We moved to Madison, Ga where we reside now. He coaches basketball while I coach volleyball. We had our first child, Christa, on February 7th, 07. She will be turning 2 this Feb. It is so amazing watching her develop and grow. She learns so quickly it amazes me everyday. We also have another daughter, Brea, who was just born on August 7th, 08. Christa and Brea are exactly 18 months apart. Brea has really grown in just a month. Watching Christa with her sister is so fun to watch. She is so helpful by bringing me diapers, pacifiers, giving hugs and kisses, and keeping me busy!! I am staying at home with them this year while coaching volleyball. Charlemage couldn't be the best Daddy in the whole world. He is so wonderful to the girls. I have to officially say that Christa is now a Daddy's girl:)
I'm hoping to start this blog to update everyone on how the girls are doing and what little things they are learning. Hopefully the blogs I post in the future will be entertaining to some of you.
So until next time......
